The Timeliness & Urgency of the Third Part of the Secret of Fatima

July-August 2007By James Anderson

The Rev. James Anderson, M.S.A., retired in 1999 from the U.S. Naval Reserve Chaplain Corps. He writes from Santa Maria, California, where he currently volunteers as a state prison chaplain.

There is a widespread and accurate perception that our world has become a most dangerous place. Tsunamis, monster hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanoes, earthquakes, wildfires, epidemics, hunger, and poverty are common. Since September 11, 2001, regional skirmishes have morphed into constant global war. Perhaps the deadliest sign of these times is the abandonment of our most basic law by those sworn to uphold it. Federal judges deny our natural right to public prayer, the public expression of our faith in God, and our obligation to obey His eternal law, including respect for life and sexual morality. Consequently, the most dangerous places in America are mothers' wombs, and our most vulnerable victims are children. What can we do? What should we already have done to remedy this?

I’m Sending Out an SOS

Jesus Christ, our savior. I’m sending out an SOS. I’m calling all true disciples of the Living God who reigns in Heaven. I’m calling all true imitators of Christ made man, the only and true Savior of mankind. I’m calling all my children, all those who are truly devout, all those who have abandoned themselves to me so that I may lead them to my divine Son. I’m calling all those that I carry in my arms, so to speak, those who have lived in my spirit. Finally, I’m calling all the Apostles of the end of time, all the faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, who have lived in contempt for the world and themselves, in poverty and in scorn, in a life of silence, prayer and mortification, chaste and united to God, in suffering and unknown to the world.

Fr. Jozo Vasilj, Ph.D,
Dear friends,
Fr. Jozo Vasilj, Ph.D, R.I.P. Another good man was called by God to move on, Fr. Jozo Vasilj, Ph.D, (1943-2007) has past away this morning. Fr. Jozo spent most of his life in Africa as one of the Franciscans who offered their life to help the poor and needy in Africa. Fr. Jozo was teaching at the University of Mostar. The love he shared is immeasurable, his kindness and humbleness was an example to most of the people that where fortunate enough to have known him. He will truly be missed by my family and by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.

Holy Father Benedict XVI prayed in front of an image of Our Lady of Medjugorje

Pope Benedict XVI The Web portal of Radio Vatican reports in a text of July 21, 2007, that the Pope Benedict XVI, in Lorenzago di Cadore where he is staying until July 27, spent one hour in prayer in front of an image of Our Lady of Medjugorje.

Radio Vatican is saying that it was a very poignant moment.

„The Pope went to the small chapel in the forest and prayed in front of the image of Our Lady of Medjugorje. An interesting story is connected with this image: it was brought in the 80’s and was stolen. After some time, the thief brought it back to the small chapel. The Pope prayed the Rosary and spent there about one hour”, says the journalist of Radio Vatican.

Pastoral staff changes

I was just informed by the dean of our deanery Fr. Mika Stojic that pastoral staff changes in Medjugorje are official. The new pastor was assigned; his name is Fr. Petar Vlasic. He has been in Medjugorje for several years now; he was the assistant priest to the previous pastor.

Fr. Danko Perutina was also transferred to Medjugorje, a young priest that has a masters degree in Mariology.

Fr. Ljubo Kurtovic was transferred out of Medjugorje and he was sent to Zagreb. He will be working with the young Franciscan Friers that study theology in Zagreb.

Why I Love You O Mary
Oh, I would like to sing, Mary, why I love you so
Why your sweet name makes my heart throb
Why the thought of your supreme greatness
Could never bring fear to my soul.
If I gazed on you in your sublime glory
I could not believe that I am your child
O Mary, I would lower my eyes before you!

Mary is the Virgin of the New Heart

Mary, overshadowed by the Spirit of God, is the Virgin of the new heart, who gave a human face to the Word made flesh. She is the Mother Mary. Virgin of wise and contemplative listening who kept and pondered in her heart the events and the words of the Lord. She is the faithful disciple of wisdom, who sought God's Wisdom and allowed herself to be formed and molded by His Spirit, so that in faith she might be conformed to his ways and choices. Thus enlightened, Mary is presented to us as one able to read "the great wonders" which God accomplished in her for the salvation of the humble and of the poor. Mary was not only the Mother of Our Lord; she also became His perfect disciple, the woman of faith. She followed Jesus, walking with the disciples, sharing their demanding and wearisome journey - a journey which required, above all, fraternal love and mutual service. (…)

Interview with Archbishop Emilio Ognjenovic

June 25, 2007, Medjugorje, Interview with Archbishop Emilio Ognjenovic.  Retired Archbishop of the Argentinan archdiocese of Mercedes-Lujan

Archbishop Ognjenovic (center), Fr. Arabia (left) and me (right). Archbishop Emilio Ognjenovic was born in Cetinja, Montenegro.  His father was also from Cetinja and his mother was from central Dalmatia. Both of his parents died 19 hours apart.  He became an orphan at the age of ten. His mother was sick a very long time and she died when she was 33 years old. She left an infant only four months old behind her. His father was devoted to his mother and he took care of her for a number of years. He died hours after her because of the sorrow he felt at her death. The bishop expressed that he thinks this was a beautiful witness that needs to be shared today when we live in a world where there is a crisis in marriage and in the family. When his parents died he became a mother and father at the age of a ten, and a friend to his younger brothers. The family was taken in by their grandmother who was so poor that they hardly had food. His grandmother thought of his future and sent him off far away to school. He went to school near the shrine of Our Lady of Lujan,  the patron of Argentina.  The bishop stated that after 15 years of ordination, a distant cousin told him the following story; when he mother was pregnant she prayed to God so that he would take me into his service and that I would become his priest. And from the moment she found out that she was pregnant she went mass on a daily basis and received communion. In the last moment of her life, the last breath of air she took, she embraced our Ladies figure and her last words were “Mother, I am giving you my life. Jesus, take my son Emilio to become a priest.”

Immaculate Conception, Mary, my Mother.

Live in me. Act in me. Speak in and through me.

Think your thoughts in my mind. Love, through my heart.

Give me your dispositions and feelings.

Teach, lead and guide me to Jesus.

Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behavior.

Possess my soul. Take over my entire personality and life.

Replace it with yourself.

Incline me to constant adoration and thanksgiving.

Pray in me and through me.

Let me live in you and keep me in this union always.

Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Pray and seek peace, little children. He who came here on earth to give you His peace, regardless of who you are and what you are – He, my Son, your Brother – through me is calling you to conversion, because without God you do not have a future or eternal life. Therefore, believe and pray and live in grace and the expectation of your personal meeting with Him. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Who's Online

I, (name), a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in your hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.
In the presence of all the heavenly court, I choose you this day for my Mother and Queen. I deliver and consecrate to you, as your slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present, and future; leaving to you the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to your good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and eternity. Amen.
