The Feast of the Holy Cross

Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Cross, it has been a tradition for almost a hundred years to celebrate this day in a special way atop of the Cross Mountain with the celebration of the Holy Mass. The cross  atop of Cross Mountain was built 1933/34 for the 1900th anniversary of the passion of Christ. The Cross was and still is a marker for the people of this region that He is always with us, in the good times and in the hard.

Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11, the river of people going up started early this morning. It is hard to guess how many will be present but over the past years it averaged at around 20000.
